BMC's Department of Dermatology provides teaching, research and patient care relevant to skin diseases. Established in 1952, BMC’s Department of Dermatology provides general dermatology, Dermatologic Surgery including surgical excisions and Mohs micrographic surgery, laser surgery, cosmetic dermatology (including sclerotherapy and chemical peels), wound healing expertise, phototherapy, patch testing, pediatric dermatology, melanoma treatment and skin oncology.

Our mission is to serve as a leader in teaching, research and patient care relevant to skin diseases. We are committed to education and to generating new knowledge about normal and diseased skin. We are committed to innovation in all of our endeavors and we strive to meet the highest standards of ethics and academic excellence. Ultimately, we hope that our work will advance the health of our community.

We are affiliated with the Boston University Cosmetic and Laser Center, a highly reputable center for providing outstanding Cosmetic Plastic Surgery and Cosmetic Procedures. We are located in Boston Medical Center’s beautiful Shapiro Center in Boston’s historic South End.
