The Department of Urology at Boston Medical Center is an international leader in patient care, medical education and research for many of the problems relating to the urinary tract. As part of an academic medical center, the Department provides patients with urological problems the most advanced care using the latest sophisticated technology and techniques. Significant advancements at Boston Medical Center include:


  • Boston Medical Center was the first hospital in Massachusetts to perform robot-assisted surgery to treat prostate cancer. 

  • Ground-breaking discoveries in the field of male reproduction have been made at Boston Medical Center involving collaborative work of the Department of Urology and Department of Human Genetics.

  • The Center for Sexual Medicine is one of the first multi-disciplinary clinics in sexual medicine in the U.S. combining multiple medical and mental health professionals dedicated to managing sexual dysfunction.

The members of our distinguished and experienced team of physicians are recognized leading urologists and are affiliated with the Boston University School of Medicine. We are located in Boston Medical Center’s beautiful Shapiro Center in Boston’s historic South End.
