Continuing Medical Education (CME)

The Trauma Program at Boston Medical Center offers several CME opportunities to medical professionals.

Aside from the events and courses found on the CME Calendar, we host a Trauma Video Teleconference on the second Wednesday of each month at 8 am in the Dowling Amphitheatre. Interested facilities are invited to join us by internet connections through our Information Technology Department. Cases are presented to a combination of Emergency Medicine and Trauma Surgery audience that generates discussion involving referral facilities, pre-hospital care, emergency and acute care management.  Lessons learned, literature review, and evolving standards of care are discussed with all participants present. We are currently looking to expand this to twice a month and involve more referral facilities. 

Additionally, we have visiting professors from major teaching and research facilities across the country present throughout the year in the specialties of surgery and emergency medicine. CMEs are offered and outside participants are welcome to attend.
