The CPT comprises pediatricians, nurse practitioners, social workers, nurses, child life specialists and attorneys who are committed to meeting the needs of vulnerable children and families in a sensitive manner. We work collaboratively with many departments within the hospital to ensure that comprehensive care is provided and that staff throughout the hospital have support and training in child maltreatment. The CPT staff also works with outside organizations including community health centers, community agencies, the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families (DCF), law enforcement personnel and the judiciary system to ensure the best possible outcome for children and families. The CPT reviews all cases of suspected child maltreatment that are reported by the hospital and provides 24/7 coverage to those providers and families who need expert consultation in the area of child protection. |
