Pediatrics – Neurology

The Sleep Disorders Program

Under the supervision of William DeBassio, PhD, MD, Director of Pediatric Sleep Services at Boston Medical Center and and Mandeep Rana, MD, Associate Director of Pediatric Sleep Services, highly trained pediatric sleep specialists, physicians and technicians work with referring primary care physicians, pediatricians and other health care professionals to evaluate sleep-related symptoms and disorders in our specially designed clinic, including:

  • Daytime fatigue or sleepiness and narcolepsy
  • Insomnia and nighttime waking
  • Snoring and sleep apnea
  • Night terrors and sleepwalking
  • Sleep-related movements, twitches, myoclonus and seizures
  • Restless leg syndrome

As a leader in the field of sleep disorders, BMC regards the management of childhood sleep disorders as a critical complement to its nationally recognized work in pediatric neurology. With a newly established Sleep Disorders Training Program, the BMC Pediatric Sleep Services staff works to enhance physician knowledge about the frequency and importance of these disorders.
