The Department’s scientists are conducting basic, clinical, and epidemiological research in many areas of rheumatology. They are currently engaged in basic and clinical studies of:
- as well as clinical trials of promising therapies.
They are studying inflammation and cellular immune function in connective tissue disease, and are conducting clinical and epidemiological studies of major rheumatic diseases:
- including scleroderma,
- systemic lupus erythematosus,
- and osteoporosis.
