## Ingredients

 Oil - 1 teaspoon olive oil, canola, avocado or sesame oil  Onion - ½ cup, diced Garlic - 1 Tablespoon, minced Tomatoes - 1 (28-oz) can, no-salt-added, crushed or diced Basil - ¼ cup fresh, chopped 1½ teaspoons dried Pepper\_flakes - ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional) Salt - ¼ teaspoon 

## Instructions

Step 1

Sauté onion and garlic in oil over medium heat until soft, about 3 minutes. Add tomatoes, basil, red pepper flakes and salt. Simmer, covered, on low for 15 minutes.

Tastes great topped with a little grated parmesan cheese
