Allan J. Walkey, MD, is a board-certified pulmonologist at Boston Medical Center (BMC), where he cares for patients with critical illness and general pulmonology issues. Dr. Walkey is also professor of Pulmonary, Allergy, Sleep & Critical Care Medicine at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. His research interests include sepsis, acute lung injury, and atrial fibrillation that occur during critical illness. He seeks to find effective health care provider practice patterns that are associated with better clinical outcomes in patients who are critically ill. As part of the steering committee for research within BMC’s Health Equity Accelerator, Dr. Walkey is responsible for oversight and planning of research efforts devoted to reducing health disparities.
