Alcohol Treatment Research

The Clinical Studies Unit at Boston Medical Center is currently enrolling participants in alcohol research programs for heavy drinking healthy volunteers, and for people who are concerned about drinking and want to cut back or quit. The Clinical Studies Unit is testing medications that may help people cut back or quit drinking.

Heavy drinking volunteers

  • Do You Drink Alcohol regularly?
  • Do you want to participate in a research study that involves drinking alcohol?
  • Researchers at Boston Medical Center are testing the effects of a medication on drinking
  • Researchers are seeking healthy volunteers aged 21-40
  • Participants will have access to streaming media entertainment while drinking (e.g. YouTube, HBOgo, Netflix)
  • Compensation will be provided to qualified subjects

  • Are you concerned about your drinking?
  • Have you thought about cutting back or quitting drinking?
  • You may be eligible to participate in one of our treatment research programs
  • Those who are eligible will receive study medication and outpatient study-related medical care including physical exam, lab work and follow-up visits at no cost.
  • These treatment research programs are confidential and no health insurance is needed.
