Boston Medical Center (“Applicant”) located at 1 Boston Medical Center Place, Boston, MA 02118 intends to file a request for a minor amendment to its approved Determination of Need ("DoN") Project #4-3C32. The DoN authorized a substantial capital expenditure for new construction and renovation at the Applicant's Menino Campus to permit the transfer of patient services sited at the Applicant's East Newton Campus. The scope of the Project was amended in March 2017, resulting in an increase in the maximum capital expenditure ("MCE") by $19,443,099 for a total MCE of $269,479,809 (January 2017 dollars). The Applicant now seeks a minor change to this approval to allow for a change in the method of financing and concurrent increase in the MCE to include the costs of securing financing. With this change, the Applicant will seek tax-exempt bond financing in the amount of $19,443,099. The associated costs to secure financing will increase the total value of the Project or MCE by $215,747, for a total MCE of $269,695,556. The Applicant does not anticipate any price or service impacts on the Applicant's existing Patient Panel as a result of the Project. Any ten Taxpayers of Massachusetts may register in connection with the intended Application no later than 30 days of the filing of the Notice of Determination of Need by contacting the Department of Public Health, Determination of Need Program, 250 Washington Street, 6th Floor, Boston, MA 02108.
