"Our Mission is to Provide Comprehensive and Culturally Appropriate, Integrated Primary Care Services to Immigrant and Refugee Populations, Including Those Seeking Asylum, and to Promote dignity, Social justice, and Human Rights"
Immigrant Refugee Health
Our clinicians provide primary care-based medical services through our practice at the Shapiro Center at BMC, and will coordinate your patient's care if they need to see a specialist for a more serious health issue.
Forensic Medical Evaluation
We offer evaluation and documentation of physical and psychological evidence of torture and abuse utilizing methods outlined in the Istanbul Protocol, the international standard for the investigation of torture. Forensic evaluations are currently conducted for patients who receive their primary care at BMC.
Internal Medicine residents training at Boston Medical Center work in the clinic to provide initial refugee health assessments and primary care for patients from a wide variety of countries.
Research and Advocacy
Our team is actively involved in academic work to advance the field of immigrant and refugee health.
