Richard K Babayan, MD is a urologist and the former Chief of Urology at Boston Medical Center (BMC). Dr. Babayan is also Emeritus Professor of Urology and former Chair of Urology at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. He is an expert in urologic oncology and endourology, and specializes in treating patients with benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH) (commonly known as enlarged prostate gland) and prostate cancer. Dr. Babayan has extensive experience using minimally invasive therapies and is a prolific researcher. He has been in practice for over 30 years, during which time he has been actively involved in local and national urologic organizations. He was the president of the American Urological Association from 2016 to 2017.
