 El embarazo (gestación) es la condición en la que una mujer lleva un feto en el útero (único o múltiple), generalmente durante 38 a 40 semanas hasta el nacimiento. El embarazo se logra de forma natural (teniendo relaciones sexuales sin protección) o de forma artificial (intervención médica). Los primeros síntomas pueden incluir un ciclo menstrual perdido, náuseas, hambre con aumento de peso y micción frecuente. El embarazo generalmente se conoce en 3 partes: el primer, segundo y tercer trimestre. El cuidado prenatal, que consiste en practicar una buena salud y hábitos alimenticios durante el embarazo, es una parte vital de cada trimestre y ayuda a asegurar un resultado saludable tanto para la madre como para el bebé.
