It is primarily used to relieve pain and encourage healing of tendons and other soft tissues. Some examples of conditions that can be treated with shockwave therapy include plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy, tennis elbow, and rotator cuff pain. There is very little downtime with this treatment and athletes can typically return to activity within 24 hours.
