The American Heart Association’s PALS Course has been updated to reflect new science in the 2020 AHA Guidelines Update for CPR and ECC. This classroom, instructor-led course uses a series of videos and simulated pediatric emergencies to reinforce the important concepts of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment, basic life support, PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation, and team dynamics. The goal of the PALS course is to improve the quality of care provided to seriously ill or injured children, resulting in improved outcomes.

PALS Class Registration

PALS classes are taught in a blended format- Once you register, you will be assigned an online class to complete, then you will attend a four hour hands-on skills session where you will demonstrate what you have learned.

Completion is simple:

  1. Register for and complete the PALS online program. Click here to sign up for the online portion of PALS
  2. Go to our sign up page to schedule your hands-on session. Click here to schedule the hands-on PALS skills session
  3. Complete the PALS hands on skills session with an instructor to complete your certification (about four hours)
  4. The completion card will be emailed the next business day.

Important Notes

Adding on Basic Life Support Certification During PALS

Optional: If you complete the HeartCode BLS online portion prior to the PALS skills session we will issue both a BLS and PALS completion card. No preregistration is required.

The skills sessions are held in various buildings around the BMC campus- When you sign up for the skills session, please make note of which location your session will be held in.
