Michelle Durham, MD, MPH, FAPA, DFAACAP, is the Vice Chair of Education in the Department of Psychiatry at Boston Medical Center (BMC) and the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. At Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine, she is a clinical associate professor of psychiatry. She is an expert in child and adult psychiatry and in addiction medicine. Dr. Durham’s career has always focused on public health and medicine serving underserved and vulnerable communities. Her research interests include workforce development and equity in medicine, as well as training and education for pediatricians and mental health professionals. Dr. Durham is the Director of Clinical Training for the BMC Transforming and Expanding Access to Mental Health in Urban Pediatrics (TEAM UP) Initiative, Massachusetts representative to the American Psychiatric Association (APA), and a member of the APA Council on International Psychiatry and Global Health. She is a passionate advocate for improving mental healthcare in the pediatric primary care setting, understanding and treating trauma in young children, and addressing health inequities in Black and brown communities.
