NEW: Take the Employee Vaccine Champion Challenge

As health care workers, we can all be vaccine ambassadors by sharing information and having discussions about the importance of the vaccine with our friends, families, and communities. To help you do this, we have created a fun and easy way to help colleagues across our health system participate in this public health effort – our Employee Vaccine Champion Challenge.

By completing just four simple steps, you can become an official "vaccine champion" and have the chance to be highlighted on our communications channels. If you complete all four steps, you’ll get a special prize!  Visit the Hub to learn more.

NEW: BMC to Resume Use of Johnson & Johnson Vaccines

Beginning May 13, BMC will again offer Johnson & Johnson vaccines to patients in the Emergency Department along with the J&J EUA and safety information. More information will be coming soon about offering the J&J vaccine at our other vaccination sites, including the Employee Vaccine Administration Clinic.

While the J&J vaccine is available to all individuals in the ED, patients can elect to get a Pfizer or Moderna vaccine at a BMC vaccination site instead of the J&J vaccine. Additional education is also recommended for women ages 18-49, and our Infectious Disease colleagues have created a one-page safety information overview that providers will be able to use with patients.

NEW: Pfizer Vaccine Approved for 12-15 Year Olds

The CDC today approved the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for 12-15 year olds. As of Friday, May 14, BMC will be able to schedule 12-15 year olds for COVID-19 vaccination. To schedule, patients can:

  • Talk to their pediatrician, who can schedule an appointment using Epic.
  • Call 617-638-9700.
  • Go online to BMC.org.

Please note consent from a parent/guardian is required for all patients under the age of 18. Consent can be given at the vaccine appointment or with the consent form that can be found on Mass.gov.

REMINDER: All Employees are Encouraged to Get the COVID-19 Vaccine

Our goal is to get to as close to 100 percent as possible when it comes to employee vaccination rates. Employees can call 617-638-9660 (ext. 8-9660) 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday – Saturday to schedule an appointment. You can also walk-in to the Employee Administration Clinic in Dowling during hours of operation:

  • Monday through Thursday, 8-10 a.m.
  • Friday, 3-5 p.m.

If you received your vaccination somewhere other than BMC, please email [email protected], so we can keep an accurate count of employee vaccinations.

REMINDER: Shapiro 5C Vaccination Clinic Closing May 14
