NEW: Inpatient Pediatrics will Reopen on June 15

On Monday, June 15, Yawkey 5 Pediatrics will reopen 12 beds to our pediatric patients and the PICU. In the short-term, 10 beds in the south side of Yawkey 5 will remain as adult Med/Surg overflow for non-Covid patients. Yawkey 5 ATU and NST area will also remain as Med/Surg overflow beds.

Please note that all stretcher traffic for Yawkey 5 Med/Surg patients should flow through Pediatrics and NOT through the OB/GYN waiting room.

REMINDER: We Need Your Help to Maximize Our N95 Mask Supply

Because of constantly changing national supply chain demands, we have had to use several different N95 masks over the past three months in order to maximize our supply of PPE.

As available supplies will continue to change for the foreseeable future, we will continue to re-fit test groups as needed, so please watch for communications to see if your group is called to be tested. It’s important that we have a full list of all the N95 masks employees and providers are able to fit into so we can adjust quickly as supplies change.

The following masks will be in limited supply in the near future so if you are currently wearing one of these, please come to the fit testing station before June 19 so we can test for an alternate N95 mask.

  • Precept Small
  • Gerson 2130

Expanded fit testing hours starting tomorrow, June 9 through June 19:

  • Monday – Saturday 6 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.
  • Sunday: 6 a.m. - Noon

Fit testing sessions are held in Menino 2A/B. No appointment is necessary, and the process takes approximately 20 minutes. We have a small giveaway for anyone getting fit tested!

Thank you for your attention to this important matter. We know we have asked a lot from everyone, but please know that your efforts help ensure we continue to have an adequate supply of PPE to keep all our employees safe.

NEW: “What Should I Do?: Navigating Difficult Emotions in the Workplace” Training Available for All Employees

All of us are feeling the weight of the pandemic in addition to the important and complex topics facing our community and nation today. With that in mind, our employee resiliency clinician Beth Milaszewski, LICSW, has created a training that leads participants to a clearer understanding of the human response to stressful situations, gives tips for recognizing signs of stress, and provides real-time strategies for re-centering.

Next week, we’ll be offering four of these virtual all-staff trainings. The sessions will be held:
