NEW: COVID-19 Email Phishing Targeting Healthcare Providers

The FBI has issued a warning about the increase in malicious emails targeting healthcare providers in the United States that exploit the current COVID-19 crisis. Below are reminders of ways to keep our systems secure and your information private:

  • Be wary of unsolicited attachments, even from people you know. Cyber actors can "spoof" the return address, making it look like the message came from a trusted associate.
    • This includes messages that appear to come from a government source or another BMC colleague – look carefully at the sender information.
  • If an email or email attachment seems suspicious, don't open it, even if your antivirus software indicates that the message is clean. Attackers are constantly releasing new viruses, and the antivirus software might not have the signature.
  • Ask IT for help with any suspicious email attachment or forward any phishing emails containing suspicious links to [email protected].

REMINDER: Fit Testing Availability and New Hours Beginning Monday, May 11

In an effort to provide frontline healthcare workers with the correct N95 masks, we have been fit testing many of you over the last several weeks. As a result, we have identified alternative masks for a number of individuals. If you have concerns about your mask’s fit, you are welcome to drop in to Menino 2A/B to speak to a fit testing supervisor. Fit testing hours will be 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. through Sunday, May 10. Starting Monday, May 11, fit testing hours will be 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
