UPDATED: N95 Usage

As we continue to carefully manage our inventory of PPE, we want to ensure that we have the maximum number of N95 options for users. Please note the following:

  • There is a shortage of the small N95s, while we have adequate supply of the Gerson universal.  In order to preserve the smalls for staff who cannot fit test for the Gerson universal, all staff who successfully fit test for the Gerson should use Gerson.
  • The Gerson N95s, and the others we fit test, are comparable to the 3M brand. We will be adding fit testing sessions and ask that all users attend those so we can assess the right fit and brand for each user across our options.
  • Please continue to place used N95s in the red bins located in the ED and on the unit floors that have suspected or confirmed COVID-19 patients.
