NEW: Great Work by Pediatrics to Repurpose Red Tent for Well Visits and Vaccinations

The department of Pediatrics is now seeing patients in the red tent, set up in the Shapiro driveway. Pediatric patients can receive vaccines and have well visits with a nurse and physician without having to enter the hospital, helping ensure our pediatric patients continue to receive critical vaccines and preventative care during COVID-19. For more information, please contact Pediatrics at 617-414-5946.

REMINDER: Infection Control Guidelines

The Infection Prevention Team is concerned BMC continues to have crowds of health care workers gathering in the parking garage lobby (waiting to pay tickets), in break/work rooms, and on elevators during the morning rush. It is critical that we all take steps to keep ourselves and our colleagues safe. All staff must follow physical distancing guidelines to limit health care worker to worker transmission including:

  • Limit the number of those in an elevator to four at a time.
  • We know the parking garage lobby is really small, but please help us by limiting the number of people in the parking garage lobby to six at a time.
  • Show your colleagues how much you care about them by using appropriate physical distancing when waiting to pick up your mask and when in break rooms or office space.

REMINDER: Refresh Station for Night-Shift Employees TONIGHT

In recognition of everyone’s tireless efforts on behalf of our patients and each other, the “refresh station,” sponsored by the HR department, will be available for employees on the balcony of the Menino lobby tonight from 10:30 p.m. – 1 a.m. All staff are welcome to come through the station (which will be set up with appropriate social distancing) for a quick break and to grab a treat.

REMINDER: Mental Health and Wellbeing Resources Available for All Employees

During this difficult time, we want to remind you of the wellbeing resources and support for all BMC and BUMG employees.  A list of resources available can be found on the COVID-19 Behavioral Health and Wellbeing page on the Hub and are available off-campus at https://www.bmc.org/employee-support-resources.
