Rhoda M Alani, MD is the Dermatologist-in-Chief at Boston Medical Center (BMC) and a key member of the BU-BMC Cancer Center. Dr. Alani is also the Herbert Mescon Professor and Chair of Dermatology at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. A world-renowned melanoma researcher, Dr. Alani is interested in translating her laboratory findings to solutions for patients through
... better prevention, detection, diagnosis, and treatment of melanoma. She has authored numerous scientific publications and owns several U.S. patents related to melanoma biomarkers, novel melanoma therapies, and imaging systems for improved melanoma detection. Dr. Alani is a recipient of several awards and a member of many well-known dermatology groups, including the American Academy of Dermatology, the Society for Investigative Dermatology, and the American Association for Cancer Research.
