More About Me

Dr. Edwards is a Professor of Surgery at the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. He received his medical degree from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1986 and completed general surgery residency at the University of Rochester, Strong Memorial Hospital. During residency, he completed a research fellowship in heart transplantation, and following graduation went on to complete a fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery, also at Columbia. He has been in practice for more than 25 years and has extensive experience in cardiothoracic surgery and heart transplantation. In addition, Dr. Edwards serves as a commander in the U.S. Navy Reserve Medical Corps.
