Jeffrey S. Berman, MD, is a pulmonologist at Boston Medical Center (BMC). Dr. Berman is also Director of the Sarcoidosis Center at Boston Medical Center, which he founded in 1995. He is an expert in the diagnosis, treatment, and investigation of sarcoidosis, and his research interests focus on its effect in underserved populations. At the Sarcoidosis Center, Dr. Berman leads several ongoing clinical research projects, including the examination of the impact of atopy and nasal disease on sarcoid clinical course, the use of nasal lavage and brushing for biopsy and prognostication in sarcoidosis, diagnosis of cardiac disease, and management of calcium and bone metabolism in sarcoidosis. Dr. Berman is an emeritus professor of medicine at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine, and an active member of the World Associate of Sarcoidosis and other Granulomatous Disorders (WASOG).
