Amy E. Sobota, MD, MPH, is a board-certified pediatric hematologist-oncologist at Boston Medical Center (BMC), where she serves as Chief of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and is a member of the Center of Excellence in Sickle Cell Disease. She is also an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the Boston University Chobanian &amp; Avedisian School of Medicine.

After earning her medical degree from University ...  of Wisconsin–Madison, Dr. Sobota completed her pediatrics residency at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC. She subsequently completed a fellowship in Pediatric Hematology and Oncology offered by Boston Children’s Hospital in conjunction with Dana Farber Cancer Institute. She additionally holds a Master of Public Health degree focused around Pediatric Health Services from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

Dr. Sobota’s clinical practice centers on sickle cell disease, iron deficiency, menstrual disorders, and general pediatric hematology, and she has been in practice for more than 20 years. Her research focuses on quality of care in sickle cell disease and the transition from pediatric to adult care.
