We pride ourselves on offering exceptional care, without exception. This Patient Information section provides information that will help you prepare for your upcoming chest surgery. Outpatient ClinicWhen patients are referred to the Center for Thoracic Oncology, they are given an appointment in the outpatient clinic in the Moakley Building. Frequently the initial work-up is already underway and our specialists are available to review test results and meet with patients and their families. For other patients, evaluations are completed and a treatment plan is formulated within 7 to 14 days. Treatment is usually initiated shortly thereafter.Patients and family members have the opportunity to ask questions and have their concerns addressed. Primary care physicians are invited to participate in the clinic visit or the weekly Thoracic Oncology Conference where treatment plans are reviewed. Our specialists provide care to all patients regardless of ethnicity, race or economic status. We do so in a caring and compassionate manner, sensitive to each patient's individual needs.
