For Patients

Patient Education

Education is a critical part of the rehabilitation process. Each patient receives one-on-one education as well as group education sessions to learn about changes in your body after a spinal cord injury. Each member of your rehabilitation team will provide intensive education to be sure you are able to care for yourself when you return home. If you will require assistance from caregivers or family members upon discharge, they will also receive training and education on how to complete your care.

Stepping Forward–Staying Informed Consumer Education Program

Our commitment to education continues after you return home; we have created the
Stepping Forward–Staying Informed Consumer Education Program. This dynamic education program offers consumers, their family members and health care professionals an opportunity to hear from leaders in the field of spinal cord injury research, rehabilitation and treatment.
