Pediatrics – Emergency Medicine

For Medical Professionals

Pediatric Emergency Nursing

The Pediatric Emergency Medicine Department has a superb staff of experienced, dedicated nurses. They play an essential role in providing care and comfort to our patients.

RN Certification for Emergency Nurses (CEN) is a mechanism by which the public and employers are able to identify nurses who have met certain standards in emergency care and are competent and current. The Department’s current CEN RN is Maureen Curtis Cooper, RN.

Certification in Pediatric Emergency Nursing (CPEN) is a nursing credential that first became available in December 2008. A CPEN credential demonstrates a nurse with extensive experience, knowledge and abilities related to pediatric emergency care beyond the basic RN licensure.

The following nurses in our department have the CPEN credential:

Maura Boucher RN
Maureen Curtis Cooper RN
Tamzen Mckenzie, RN

The Department nursing staff routinely offers the Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) and Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC). For more information contact:

Carolyn Drew RN, MSN
