Services

The Child Protection Team:

  • Provides social work and medical case consultation to Boston Medical Center staff by page 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We provide social and/or medical discussion, case review, as well as referral resources.

  • Tracks, reviews and collects data on all child maltreatment reports filed by BMC staff; serves as liaison with DCF to inform providers on the status of a case where a 51A has been filed.

  • Serves as liaison with the Boston Police Department, Suffolk County District Attorney's Office, Children's Advocacy Center of Suffolk County, Boston Public Schools and Primary Care Providers.

  • Provides training/education to staff regarding child abuse and neglect. Contact Louisa Sullivan at 617.414.7425 to request a specific training.

  • Serves as resource to the BMC staff for discussing complex cases.

  • Any staff member is welcome to bring a case for discussion. Please contact the Child Protection Team at 617.414.3663 to schedule a case discussion.
