The mission of the Pediatric Hematology Program at Boston Medical Center is to serve children and families with blood disorders in the Greater Boston area. Hemoglobinopathies are a main focus of the program, but we also provide evaluation and ongoing care for children and adolescents with a variety of blood disorders.
We treat children and adolescents with:
- sickle cell anemia, and related disorders
- thalassemias
- nutritional related anemias
- coagulation defects
- white cell disorders
- histiocytic diseases
- autoimmune diseases affecting the blood
