| About the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit
The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit is a state-of-the-art
4 bed unit designed to care for critically ill children at Boston
Medical Center. We have approximately 350-400 admissions a year.
Our most common diagnoses include severe asthma, significant infectious
diseases, trauma, and post-operative care for surgical procedures.The
unit is staffed a dedicated attending staff and by nurses trained
in pediatric critical care.
