Primary Care Services for Youth Ages 12 - 22 Years

If you don't already know us (or even if you do) please take a moment to read and find out why it is so important for you to have a "medical home." At the Adolescent Center, you can choose your own doctor or nurse practitioner. That person will be an experienced male or female provider who will get to know you throughout your adolescent years.

We are a group of doctors, nurses, and counselors located on the fifth floor of the Ambulatory Care Center. We are specially trained in healthcare issues that affect people from ages 12 to 22. We work hard to make the Adolescent Center a place where you can feel safe; where you feel that your questions and concerns are respected; where you feel that your right to privacy is protected.

Our patients, young men and women just like you, come from communities throughout Boston. They come from around the world and for many different reasons. Sometimes it's easy to visit the doctor (like when you need a school physical or feel sick); but at times it can also be difficult, frightening, or embarrassing. "I need help with my weight." "Am I pregnant?" "I always feel sad or alone - what's wrong with me?" "I'm worried that I am HIV positive." "I just can't take it at home anymore." These are some of the concerns we hear behind closed doors every day.

Maybe you need us only for routine checkups. Perhaps you are struggling with a serious physical or emotional problem right now. Whatever your healthcare needs, we are available to help. Stop by and check us out!

The Adolescent Center offers a computer terminal in the waiting room run by college-age volunteers, which is open for walk-in visits. The volunteers are located outside the Adolescent Center waiting room. Resources include: information regarding community resources and jobs, job training programs, neighborhood health centers, community centers, day care, athletics and schools and college information. You can also go directly to our on-line resource links.
