Welcome to Adolescent Department & Teen and Tot Program

Our Adolescent Program

Hello  and Welcome to Boston Medical Centers Adolescent and Teen and Tot Programs!   The Adolescent Center is one of Boston’s premiere adolescent programs in the state.  The center provides comprehensive medical and social well being programs designed especially for teens! The center offers standard medical services such as yearly well visits, sports physicals and immunizations by medical professionals.   Mental well being is also as important as physical care.  Patients have the opportunity to receive emotional care and mental health screenings by a social worker. Teens have the capacity to receive confidential STD/HIV Testing, health education and counseling services.  The unit is also equipped  with staff specializing in Family Planning options and care.   In addition to myriad of services the Adolescent unit  gives services to  young parents seeking to receive prenatal care or parenting advice to young parents. Part of these services come from a unique service called the Teen and Tot Program.

Teen and Tot Program

The Adolescent Department is a home to the Teen and Tot Program (TTP) which is a specialized program located within the Boston Medical Center Adolescent Department. The Teen and Tot Program is an innovative approach to care for the medical and social well being for young mothers, fathers and children. TTP staff specialized in the unique needs of adolescents. Their comprehensive approach provides teen parents access to various medical services such as standard Adolescent care which includes primary care for both mothers, fathers and children. Parents utilizing the Teen and Tot program will have access to *prenatal care and education, parenting groups, nutrition counseling, confidential HIV/STD counseling and Testing and healthy baby and healthy child nurse home visits. TTP provides young parents with *parenting education and support groups. Parents have the ability to access Family Planning Counselors, intensive case management services, health education; mental health services, early intervention referrals and linkages to health and social services. Case management link the coordination and smooth transition of women between obstetrical care and primary care.
