The power of touch is healing! Infant massage also promotes bonding between babies and their new families. Our Infant Massage Program provides new families with an opportunity to learn infant massage during their stay. Classes are held Tuesdays at 10:30 am in the BirthPlace (Menino Pavilion, 3 West). Parents and their families may choose to attend a class during their stay at BMC and may also return at any time for an additional session. Families are also given information on similar programs in their communities. A specialized team of professionals in our Level III, 15-bed NICU, care for infants who require close observation and additional therapy. They provide families with medical and emotional support.
Every family has individual needs. The Health Leads/Project Baby volunteers provide information about housing, jobs, health insurance, birth certificates, community programs and specific information requested by our families.
