Spine

Back or spine injuries are the most common musculoskeletal problems. According to the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, 8 out of 10 people will experience back pain at some point in their lives.

Proper functioning of the back is critical to many activities of daily living. Actions such as turning, bending, standing, and lifting cannot be accomplished without the use of the back and spine. Pain in the back can reduce the quality of life, diminish work capacity, and restrict activity.

The spine is a complex structure of vertebra, disks, spinal cord, and nerves. Dr. Tannoury, our orthopaedic spine surgeon, is a fellowship-trained surgeon with experience with all adult spine conditions. Exceptional patient care is his number one priority, with a particular focus on accurate diagnosis followed by appropriate surgical or nonsurgical treatment. Dr. Tannoury's philosophy is based on balancing the advantages of cutting-edge technology, such as disc replacement and minimally invasive techniques, with more well-known, standard procedures in order to develop a treatment plan that is specifically tailored to the individual patient.

Dr. Tannoury treats all spine conditions, including:

  • Adult scoliosis
  • Fracture of the thoracic and lumbar spine
  • Low back pain
  • Spinal stenosis
  • Spondylolsis and spondylolisthesis
  • Spinal Fusion
  • Kyphoplasty

Tony Tannoury, M.D.
