What is a Resident? What is a Fellow? Are they doctors?
Yes, they are both doctors. A resident has completed medical school and a one- or two-year internship. They are enrolled in a five-year residency program, at the end of which they are fully equipped to enter orthopaedic practice.

Fellows have completed their five-year residency and are further specializing in an area of orthopaedic surgery. Fellowships last for one year.
