Pediatric Neurosurgery

At Boston Medical Center, our pediatric neurosurgeons are experts in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders or injuries of the brain and spinal cord in infants, children and young adults. Our team of skilled pediatric surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists and other professionals use the latest equipment and surgical techniques to deliver expert care to your child in a compassionate environment. We address the surgical needs of children of all age groups, and treat a wide range of conditions, including:

  • Brain tumors
  • Spinal cord tumors
  • Movement disorders
  • Cerebral palsy
  • Epilepsy
  • Spinal bifida
  • Hydrocephalus
  • Scoliosis
  • Chiari malformations
  • Spasticity

Pediatric neurological problems can be much different than adult neurological disorders. In addition, children are sometimes unable to tell us what's wrong. We take the time with our child patients and create an open and relaxed atmosphere. Having a child with a neurological problem is stressful, and we support you by making you a full partner in your child's care by fully explaining your child's condition and treatment options. We also listen to you and take the time to answer all your questions so you completely understand all aspects of your child's care.
