Welcome to the CHACR

Our Mission

The mission of the Center for HIV/AIDS Care and Research is to provide exceptional medical care, comprehensive support services, and novel prevention and treatment options to improve the quality of life of individuals diagnosed with HIV/AIDS; to conduct cutting-edge research to promote optimal patient care; and to educate patients, their families, and providers to expand knowledge, affect behaviors, and prevent the spread of HIV.



Highlights

Review of antiretroviral agents for the treatment of HIV infection

Senior HIV Pharmacotherapy Specialist, Anela Stanic, and colleagues recently published data in the Formulary Journal that reviewed the antiretrovirals currently available to treat HIV-infected patients in the United States. The article also includes a brief discussion on investigational agents in Phase III of drug development. Read Article >>

Dr. Hélène Hardy, HIV Pharmacotherapy Program Director, presented data at the 16th Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections (CROI) on long-term adherence to antiretroviral therapy in HIV/Hepatitis C co-infected patients from BMC. To view excerpts from her presentation, click here.

Out of many applicants, Dr. Helene Hardy was one of the twelve finalist invited to do an oral abstract presentation at this year's conference, where adherence experts in the field of HIV regroup to discuss progress, innovations and new issues.
