Faculty & Practicing Physicians


The Geriatrics Section seeks to continually educate health professionals in the care of older adults with complex health concerns.  This occurs through weekly conferences and various special programs for faculty and practicing physicians.

Geriatrics Section Education Conference Series

The Geriatrics Section Education Conference Series includes journal club, research conferences, evidence-based clinical conferences, and core topic conferences and is attended by all clinicians of the Section as well as medical students and internal medicine residents on rotation and the geriatrics fellows. Conferences are held each Friday, 9 - 10 AM.  Link to read more…

Center of Excellence in Geriatrics

In 1998, the Geriatrics Section at BUSM became a Center of Excellence in Geriatrics (COE) funded by the John A. Hartford Foundation. The purpose of the Center is to attract additional outstanding physicians to careers as geriatrically oriented faculty. It is designed to produce future leaders in geriatrics education, research, and administration, produce clinicians skilled in geriatric care, and assist in the education and training of physicians with competency in geriatric care in order to meet the health needs of increasing numbers of elderly.  Link to read more…

 

Dean Faulkner Visiting Professor

Each year the Geriatrics Section sponsors the Dean Faulkner Visiting Professorship in Geriatrics. This professorship was made possible by the BUSM graduating class of 1954 in honor of their Dean.  Link to read more…
