Audrey Calderwood, MD Dr. Calderwood joined the faculty of the Section of Gastroenterology in 2009. After earning her medical degree at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, Dr. Calderwood completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Chicago Medical Center and the Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She then completed a fellowship in gastroenterology at the Boston Medical Center. In addition to general gastroenterology, Dr. Calderwood’s clinical interests include capsule endoscopy, the care of patients with inflammatory bowel disease, and high-risk cancer syndromes. Her research interests include colorectal cancer prevention and quality in colonoscopy. She has led research studies on the validation of The Boston Bowel Preparation Scale, a novel scale designed for use in describing bowel cleanliness, as well as educational interventions to improve bowel preparation for patients. Dr. Calderwood is involved in the training of fellows, residents, and medical students at Boston Medical Center and Boston University School of Medicine. She is currently serving on the Practice Parameters Committee of the American College of Gastroenterology and is a member of the American Gastroenterology Association and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. |
