Mission Statement
Boston Medical Center's Elders Living at Home Program (ELAHP) is designed to help elderly
individuals maintain their independence for as long as possible by developing and maintain
programs that respond to turbulent housing and economic conditions.
ELAHP provides a range of temporary and emergency housing and case management services to
older men and women who are homeless or imminently at risk of becoming homeless, with the
ultimate goal of helping them to locate and maintain an appropriate permanent residence.
Each client's unique needs and abilities are responded to in a creative and flexible way,
and staff work collaboratively with other community-based agencies to coordinate the mix
of supportive services that will maximize client strengths.
As a program of Boston Medical Center, ELAHP is a tax-exempt, non-profit organization supported
by public agencies, private foundations and corporations, and individual donors. ELAHP makes
every effort to reach out to those most in need, including non-English speaking elders and
other marginalized individuals. ELAHP is committed to providing high quality services in a
respectful manner that will help each client reach his or her highest potential.
