Transitioning From
Homelessness to Housing
Boston Medical Center's Elders Living at Home Program (ELAHP) provides a wide range of temporary
and emergency housing and case management services to older men and women who are homeless or
at imminent risk of becoming homeless.
Our mission is to provide supportive services that build upon the individual abilities of elders and to help them overcome the barriers to permanent housing.
During our more than twenty years of providing services to Boston’s elderly, 85% of our clients have moved on to safe, affordable housing. More significantly, of those we helped find a home, nearly 100% have been able to maintain that home.
We make every effort to reach
out to those most in need, including non-English-speaking elders and other marginalized individuals.
We are committed to providing high-quality services in a respectful manner that will help
each client reach his or her highest potential.
Elders Living At Home Program strives to be a model for service, advocacy, research and education on the causes of and solutions to elder homelessness.
