Haitian Health Institute
Founded in March 1998, the Haitian Health Institute at Boston Medical Center strives to provide quality health care, education and social services to Boston’s Haitian community. Medical staff at the Institute have a keen understanding of traditional Haitian mores and therefore have considerable experience breaking down barriers in order to allow positive intervention and delivery of health care services. Specific areas of concentration for the Institute include education and intervention for Haitian families around the issues of sexuality, pregnancy, and sexually-transmitted diseases, including HIV.
