Leading Experts Provide Comprehensive Care at BMC’s Center for Digestive Disorders

Excellence, innovation and a singular focus on the patient defines care at BMC’s Center for Digestive Disorders. Our team draws from the expertise of renowned specialists to provide the most advanced care in a comfortable and caring enviornment.

Expert care. BMC’s Center for Digestive Disorders brings together nationally-recognized physicians from a diverse range of specialties. Drawing on both clinical experience and research, these physician-researchers are on the forefront of the latest treatments for gastrointestinal disorders and liver diseases. Many of these doctors are named Boston Top Docs by Boston Magazine.

Patient-focused approach. The Center for Digestive Disorders strives to make the patient experience as comfortable as possible. Patients can be scheduled to meet with a gastroenterologist and a surgical specialist on the same day to eliminate the need for multiple visits. To further streamline care, the Center for Digestive Disorders is located in the bright and spacious Moakley Building that houses many of the Center’s corresponding specialties. These services include: gastroenterology, surgery and cancer care services.

Innovative technologies and treatment options. From in-depth diagnostics and screenings to the latest minimally invasive treatments, BMC works to offer patients the most effective care. Among its many advanced treatment approaches, BMC offers double balloon enteroscopy, sphincter-sparing surgery for rectal cancer and Cyberknife Robotic Radiosurgery.

Multidisciplinary collaboration. Top-ranking gastroenterologists, surgeons, oncologists, pathologists and radiologists bring a comprehensive approach to every patient case. Each of the Center’s six core subspecialty practice areas is co-chaired by a member of BMC’s Section of Gastroenterology and the Department of Surgery.  Physicians also work closely with referring physicians to ensure patients receive appropriate emergency care with help from the GUTS Beeper System.
