1. How do I make an appointment?

Call our office at 617.414.6800 to schedule your appointment.

Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled appointment so that we can properly register you.

If you cannot keep your appointment, call 617.414.6800 to reschedule as soon as possible. Please provide at least 24 hours notice so that we may offer this appointment time to another patient.

2.  Where are you located?

We are located at:

930 Commonwealth Avenue West, 1st Floor
Boston, MA

The office's main entrance is located on Pleasant Street. Patients Should look for the BU Medical Group Sign.

This is conveniently located across from the Agganis Arena at Boston University and at the Pleasant Street stop on the MBTA B Green line.

3.  What should I bring to my first appointment?

Please bring the following to your first appointment:

  • Bring your current medications with you or a list of your medications and dosages.

  • Bring your insurance card.

  • Your co-pay.

  • Bring copies of any medical records from your previous physician/hospital or fax them to 617.414.6817 prior to your visit.

4.  Where do I send my medical records for the office?

You may fax your medical records to 617.414.6817 or mail them to:

5.  How soon can I get in for my new patient visit?

Normally, you can get an appointment within 2-3 weeks. However, some physicians may be booked out further but you can see one of the other providers in the clinic for your new patient visit.

6.  How do I know which physician to select as my primary care physician?

Call the medical group at 617.414.6800 to find out who is accepting new patients.

7.  What if I am ill and need to be seen but my physician is not in the practice today?

This is a medical group, which means all the physicians in the group see any of our established patients.

8.  I think I should see a specialist. How do I get a referral?

Patients must make an appointment with a physician in the practice to be examined before any referrals are issued. At times, the diagnosis can be resolved with the primary care physician.

9.  I’m running low on my prescription. What should I do?

You should plan to call 3 days (or 72 hours) before you run out of any prescription. Call 617.414.6800 and ask to be connected to the refill line. Be sure to leave the following information:

  • Your name, date of birth and daytime telephone number

  • The name of your primary care physician

  • The name AND telephone number of your pharmacy

  • The name of your meds and dosages

Also, state how many days you have left in your prescription and be sure to state if you have run out of your medication.

10.  I had a blood test and x-ray. When will I have the results?

Please give at least 48 hours for the tests to be processed, transcribed and sent to the medical group. Your physician will ask you to call sooner if he or she needs to discuss the tests with you.

11.  I received a bill. Where can I call to discuss this?

If your bill is from Boston Medical Center, call 617.638.7294.

12.  Are you a walk in clinic?

No, if you are having immediate health issues, you should call 911. You will need to schedule a new patient visit with one of our providers to become an established patient.
