aid will be used to increase absorption of this
product into the skin, followed by the application of
a specially formulated intense Vitamin C mask on the
face for several minutes. The treatment will be
completed with an appropriate lotion to protect and
hydrate the skin.
Following the treatment, the skin should be treated
gently for the next 48 hours, avoiding the use of
products containing retinol and/or alpha hydroxy. Sun
block of 15 or higher should be applied.
Medical Cleansings (including Teen Cleansings) and Back Treatments
The purpose of medical cleansing is to exfoliate the dead surface skin cells, extract excess oil and
comedones and pustules and re-hydrate dull, tired skin. Most skin types can benefit from a medical
cleansing. The treatment can be customized for each individual's needs.
Th skin will be cleansed and prepped and placed under a warm vapor mist to open the pores and soften
oil and debris. Using firm pressure, oil and debris will be extracted from the pores. After the
extraction process, the skin will be disinfected and an appropriate mask will be applied for 5-7
minutes.
Th skin may appear red and blotchy for several hours after the cleansing and should be treated
gently and no glycolic/retinol products should be used for 48 hours after cleansing. Sun exposure
should be avoided and an SPF 30 or higher should be applied before going outdoors. Best results are
seen when cleansings are done on a regular basis, the frequency suggested varies from patient to
patient. We also recommend easy to use at home products that compliment your office treatments.
Hand Treatments
Both the above mentioned peel methods, either the glycolic peel or Beta hydroxy peel can be used on
the hands with the same treatment indications for the rejuvenation of the skin. Just as with the
treatment on the face, a series of peels will help diminish such signs of aging such as pigmented
lesions (sun or age spots, freckles) and dry skin.
Chemical Peels/Microdermabrasion
Many fine wrinkles and acne scars can be improved using chemical peels
such as glycolic acid and trichloracetic acid (TCA) or
microdermabrasion. Repeated sessions of glycolic acid or
microdermabrasion are needed as opposed to 1-2 sessions of
trichloroacetic acid. These acids or aluminum particles, in the case of
microdermabrasion, exfoliate the top layers of the skin and allow the
improvement of “dull skin”, wrinkles, sunspots, roughness, and large
pores.

The recovery period for microdermabrasion and glycolic peels is limited
to a few hours in which the face appears red. Makeup can be applied
immediately after the procedure to cover this up. TCA peels are more
extensive and therefore require healing time up to a week. During this
time, the skin resembles a severe sunburn.
