Neelam A. Vashi, MD – Biography   

Neelam A. Vashi, MD, FAAD, is a board certified dermatologist and an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the Boston University School of Medicine where she teaches dermatology to BU residents, international trainees, and medical students. She specializes in both medical and cosmetic dermatology including laser surgery and has specialized expertise in treatment of individuals with skin of color. 

Dr. Vashi received her medical degree from Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine where she was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. After her internship in internal medicine at Northwestern University – McGaw Medical Center, Dr. Vashi came to the east coast to complete her dermatology residency at New York University (NYU) in the Ronald O. Perelman Department of Dermatology, one of the country’s top academic dermatology centers, with training at NYU Langone Medical Center, Bellevue Hospital, and the Manhattan VA Hospital. 

Dr. Vashi continues to publish in the dermatologic literature and present at national dermatology conferences. She enjoys the breadth of dermatology, practicing medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology and caring for patients of all ages and ethnicities.  Dr. Vashi’s clinical and research interests focus on the therapy of skin, hair, and nail disorders that occur more frequently in individuals with skin of color. She is the Founder and Director of the Boston University Center for Ethnic Skin. This center provides clinical care, cosmetic dermatology, and clinical trials research.
