Retirement Plans

The Open Plan

This is a tax deferred plan, 403(b) plan. It allows you to defer paying income taxes on your contributed salary until you withdraw it from the plan during retirement. Your money is kept in an individual account that is invested at your direction. There are no employer contributions to this plan. View or download:  BMC 403(b) Open Plan Summary Plan Description (PDF).

How Does it Work?

You elect to set aside a portion of your salary on a pre-tax basis. The money is then directed to the financial institution you have chosen, TIAA-CREF or Fidelity Investments. It is invested in annuities or mutual funds that you have selected. Changes to your investments can be made at any time by calling the institution directly at:
Call: TIAA-CREF 1.800.410.6649.

How Do I Join?

To join a plan you will need to decide two things: how much are you going to contribute, and which funds (TIAA-CREF) you are going to invest in.

Once you have decided, you will need to go online to mybmc.org or call 1.800.410.6649

How Much Can I Contribute?

The IRS limits your total contribution to a fixed dollar amount, called a 402(g) limit. This amount can change year to year.
