ResearchResourcesBoston Medical Center’s Department of Anesthesiology is affiliated with the Boston University School of Medicine and has staff to support the clinical research activities. The department has the resources to conduct clinical trials according to the Code of Federal Regulations and International Conference of Harmonization (ICH) and Good Clinical Practices (GCPs). Our department is committed to the mission of providing excellence in the area of clinical care, education and research. The Department of Anesthesiology is dedicated to advancing our specialty and is currently involved primarily in clinical research projects including evaluation of new neuromuscular blocking agents, neuro-monitoring, outcome studies and new pain techniques and drug trials. Residents and faculty are encouraged to become involved in research projects during their careers and time is reserved for such endeavors. With over 80,000 anesthetics per year and 15,000 pain procedures performed, the opportunities for research are abundant. |
