Clinical Services
The CHACR offers a variety of prevention and treatment options for both HIV+ patients and high-risk populations. BMC's commitment to Exceptional Care, Without Exception is embraced by the CHACR's highly trained, compassionate staff.
Each patient is cared for by an experienced team comprised of a nurse, physician, and medical case manager, with immediate access to mental health clinicians, substance abuse counselors, and clinical pharmacists, if needed. These experts have years of training and experience. They provide culturally sensitive, reliable, and effective HIV/AIDS primary and specialty medical care, mental health and social services, medication adherence counseling, and access to new drug therapies that may not be available to the general public. Special care and advice are available to HIV+ women, including women who are pregnant or would like to become pregnant. Educational programs and support groups and access in the same clinic to liver, lung, cancer, and psychiatric HIV/AIDS specialists make the CHACR a highly effective multi-disciplinary care provider. The CHACR also offers free HIV and STD testing, education, and counseling and helps newly diagnosed patients obtain prompt access to medical care. Multilingual providers are available.
The CHACR staff creates an individualized treatment plan for each patient. This involves assessing the patient's overall health to ensure the best medications are prescribed, creating a nutrition plan, and considering a variety of mental health options, from psychiatrists to support groups. The doctors in the CHACR are at the forefront of HIV/AIDS research and treatment. Patients are secure in the knowledge that their caregivers have strong, specialized backgrounds in caring for patients with HIV/AIDS and their unique needs.
